Experience
I am PhD student in Literature at Boston University. I have extensive tutoring and teaching experience in the fields of writing and literature. For the past six years I have taught courses in world literature, drama, Shakespeare, and college-level writing at BU. In addition, I have worked as a tutor in the BU Writing Center and in the BU Core Curriculum's writing program. I was one of a few tutors selected to be an Intensive Tutor, working long-term with individual students on their writing and language skills, and have specific training working with ESL/ELL/L2 students. My favorite educational experience has been working one-on-one with students, helping them improve their skills in the areas of writing, reading, and engaging with literature.

Hobbies
In addition to teaching, researching, and writing about Shakespeare (my specialty as a scholar) and working as an editorial assistant for the academic journal Shakespeare Studies, I have worked for the last few years as the co-director of Willing Suspension Productions, a graduate/undergraduate theater group devoted to Renaissance drama. I'm passionate about working with bringing theater to life with others. Beyond school, my favorite books are The Lord of the Rings and Jane Austen's novels. But I'm not all about literature. I enjoy soccer (i used to be a certified referee), chess, hiking and the outdoors (I volunteer with The Nature Conservancy) and am an amateur percussionist. I love exploring new kinds of music, from rock to jazz to world traditions.
