EducationHello! I am a postdoctoral researcher at MIT working in Mechanical Engineering and Synthetic Biology.
I have a PhD in Biochemistry from New York University (2017) where I was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award as a Biochemistry TA.
I have a Master of Science in Biochem & Molecular Biology, 2011 from Wright State University. Here, I was awarded Grad Student of the Year (2011).
SUNY Binghamton, BA in Biology, 2007, where I graduated with honors.
ExperienceI am currently a postdoc at MIT in the MechE department. As a graduate student at NYU, I had tutored for Biochemistry for several years and it was truly a rewarding experience. My specialty is Biochemistry and General Chemistry. I am also well versed in Organic Chemistry and other Biological sciences.
Tutoring is a great way for students to gain one-on-one mentorship that cannot be attained in a large classroom environment. I have taken many classes in my life and experienced many different teaching styles, and I believe a personalized teaching approach can be taken to any kind of students out there. I have prior military service as a US Air Force officer, which has given me leadership and mentorship training that is an invaluable asset in a teaching environment.
I consider the NYU area my "home," since I am usually there 7 days a week working in the lab. My days are quite flexible especially over the summer, and I can tailor a convenient schedule to your needs.

HobbiesI'm a native New Yorker, grew up in Queens and went to Archbishop Molloy HS, then SUNY Binghamton for undergrad. I joined the Air Force for 4 years and lived in Ohio, and during that time got a MS in Biochemistry and learned valuable leadership skills. I am a musician, and have played trumpet all through grade school, high school, and college. I believe physical fitness is just as important as mental fitness. I love tennis, and have taught beginner-intermediate tennis at the Forest Hills Tennis Club, as well as with the City Parks Foundation.
