Experience

I spent three months as an English tutor for three young Dutch girls (ages 5, 8, and 10) with varying degrees of English language knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them learn, and the experience taught me how to develop lesson plans, assignments, and games for different skill levels in the same subject. More recently I spent two years as a customer support rep at a tech company, coaching adults on how to use marketing software. This helped me hone my ability to break down complex topics for an audience unfamiliar with the subject, and walk through the explanation at their pace. It also helped me expand my empathy and patience, and taught me how to teach difficult concepts without being condescending.
