Experience
I'm an elementary school teacher, and I get a lot of practice differentiating my approach for the unique needs of each of my students. I worked with lots of different types of students, such as special education students, English language learners, students with gaps in their education, students with emotional or behavioral issues, and others. In a tutoring environment, I can focus on one student at a time and customize their curriculum and interventions. In addition to my work as a teacher at the elementary school level, I've also taught preschool and pre-K, and I worked as a nanny. I'm very nurturing. I love children, and I appreciate the wonder and joy they have in discovering the world. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in elementary math, essay writing and editing, English grammar, phonics, reading, literature, writing, and study skills. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy learning on my own. I love learning new things and staying sharp. I also like to cook, play the guitar, go out to see some live music, volunteer at the animal shelter, and participate in the community. If I can do any of these things outside in some nice weather, that's even better.
