I graduated from Carleton College with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies. Later, I returned to school (this time to Boston College Law School), where I earned a Juris Doctor degree. I have a lifelong passion for learning, and I love to work as a tutor so I can share this sentiment with my students.I am able to teach a variety of subjects, but I specialize in English (Writing, Essay Editing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, and Public Speaking) and Social Studies (American History, Government, and Politics). I also enjoy assisting students who are preparing to take standardized exams such as the GED, LSAT, SAT, PSAT, and ISEE. Though these tests can feel overwhelming and worrisome, they can create important opportunities for students. I enjoy helping students to develop the skills to excel at these exams so they're best able to pursue their academic goals. I believe that enthusiasm and confidence are equally important for success, so I work to build these traits into my tutoring sessions in a manner that suits each student's individual learning style.In my spare time, I enjoy solving puzzles, reading, and taking in stand-up comedy and live theater when I'm able.
