I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bowdoin College in Theater, English, and Biology, and am pursuing a graduate degree in Biology, with a particular interest in Evolution and Bioanthropology. I have tutored students regularly since I was in junior high school, and am very comfortable working with students across a wide range of material in both the arts and the sciences. I am a native Spanish speaker and have years of experience working with students from beginning Spanish through high levels of proficiency. My fluency in Spanish has also made it possible for me to tutor native Spanish speakers in a variety of subject areas. I believe that the goal of any tutoring relationship is always to draw out and encourage the student's own abilities and understanding. This relationship must be founded on respect, and requires that the tutor engage the student as a collaborator in the learning process and not as a subordinate there to take instruction. When I'm not tutoring or pursuing my own studies, I like running, bicycling, and photography. I'm also both a serious music fan and a musician myself.
