Colgate University - BA, Geology and French

I grew up in Massachusetts on Cape Cod where my family is from. I studied at Colgate University where I acquired a bachelor's degree in both Geology and French. I recently got back from France where I spent a year teaching English. While I was in France I taught in many grade levels from 6th to 12th so I was able to work with a wide range in the age and skill of students. This was very beneficial to me as it was a great learning opportunity for myself when writing lessons depending on the age group I was working with. It is enjoyable to me when finding ways to better explain tough concepts that may be more confusing, such as grammar in different languages. Studying languages has been a passion of mine for years and I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge to guide students down the right track. I love tutoring and the thing about it that excites me most is helping others express themselves more comfortably and in ways that may be new to them. I do have a few hobbies including knitting, reading, and sports that get me outside like sailing and skiing.
