Experience

I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when you study but the grades don't reflect the work you've put in. I was fortunate enough to have a tutor who was able to explain things to me in a way that made sense to me, and who was a huge part in my success. There is nothing better than having that "a-ha!" moment, and I would love to help other kids the same way my tutor had helped me! I like to try and make the work enjoyable and relatable to what the student finds interesting. I have worked with kids for over 10 years as a tutor, camp counselor, swim instructor and babysitter. Most of my tutoring experience is at the elementary and middle school level, but I have also tutored some of my peers in college. As a Neuroscience major, I have a background in psychology, biology, and most neuro-related classes. CV available upon request

Hobbies

I am originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, and moved to Boston after grad school to start a job at BCH. Although I do not know what exactly I want to do career-wise, I know that I would like to work at a children's hospital. In the next year or so I hope to figure this out and apply for either a PhD program, med school, or a nursing program. In the meantime, I love exploring the city and seeing all of the history and cool things Boston has to offer! I also enjoy reading, cooking, and anything outdoors! I have just discovered NH and hiking in the White Mountains - hitting all of the 4,000+ft peaks is now on my to-do list for while I am in Boston! I am also an avid runner and ran my first Boston Marathon this year - which, despite the rain and cold conditions, was really an incredible experience. I love travelling as well, and my Wanderlust was made even worse during my time abroad. Seeing new places and experiencing different cultures is one of my passions!
